Please note that the DPS can book up very quickly, especially during high-volume seasons like the summer and during spring break. You should schedule your driving exam as far in advance as possible. At the link above, you will also find information on Certified Designated Examiners if you wish to go to a 3rd party testing site if the DPS is booked up.
For Ages 16 ½ – 18:

If you completed optional drivers education, then you may also schedule your drive test at one of the Certified Designated Examiners instead of waiting for a DPS spot.

Be prepared to enter this information during scheduling:
- Make, model, color of vehicle you'll have with you for the exam
- Permit number
- Office location, date & time
- Name, email, phone number
- $3.75 payment by card
If you have scheduled an online appointment you can reschedule with no charge until one (1) minute before the appointment time. Go to the appointment schedule website and click on the "Search my Appointments" button to find and cancel or reschedule your appointment.
