How do I get my permit?

You can get your permit when you meet all of the following requirements:

  • You are at least 15 years old.
  • You have an eligible parent instructor.
  • You have ordered and received the PTDE packet from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
  • You have completed the first level of your Parent Taught Drivers Ed course and received a DE-964/Permit Certificate from Aceable.
  • You fill out all required paperwork.
