No, they are completely different and separate, but BOTH are required for you to be able to get your permit and license. Passing the TLSAE course final exam allows Aceable to send your course completion information to the state of Florida and serves as proof that you successfully passed the four-hour TLSAE course.
The Knowledge Exam, however, is NOT the final exam. This is an additional exam you need to take to get your Florida permit/license. If you are 14-17 years old, you can take the Knowledge Exam online with Aceable for an additional fee of $25 (unless you bought the bundle). If youβre 18 years old or older, the state of Florida requires that you take the Knowledge Exam at your DMV office. Your Knowledge Exam is accessible from your home screen. Click the little house icon in your toolbar, then click the "Take Knowledge Exam" button as shown below.
If you have purchased the exam, this will be your next screen:
It's super important to fill this information out accurately! If there are any mistakes, the DMV will not be able to receive your test results. When you're ready, you can then proceed with the exam! If you have not purchased the exam, this will be the screen you'll see:
Upon purchasing, you'll fill out the contract above and be able to proceed! Students who take the Knowledge Exam with Aceable will need to:
- Answer 50 questions in 60 minutes
- Score at least an 80% (40 out of 50 questions correct).
- Pass all security questions.
Florida state law requires that you purchase the knowledge exam again if you fail the exam, fail a security question, or donβt complete the exam in 60 minutes. You have up to three chances to take the exam online. After that, the state of Florida requires that you take the exam at the Driver License Office in person. IMPORTANT: All students are susceptible to random Knowledge Exam re-testing at the DMV, even if they've taken and passed it online.
